Keeping a Healthy Perspective!

Updated: Mar 18

Ladies, as we age we realize that our bodies most definitely ae not the same as it once was. We move just a little bit slower and we simply cannot do the things that we once could. Often times that leads to depression and a sense of worthlessness. We just don't feel valuable and worthy. Surrounding ourselves with a community of women who are vibrant, supportive, transparent is one major way to uplift us and also for us to create a healthy mindset and perspective on life. At this age we have definitely been through life's up and downs. We have faced some major challenges be it health wise, the loss of loved ones, etc. We are now what they call the "Aunties" and yes we are qualified to give insight to younger generation women who are following in our footsteps and are looking for guidance as they too navigate through life.

Taking time out for ourselves is a key factor in us keeping a healthy perspective. Scheduling brunches, dinners, going to see a movie, getting together to play cards with our friends, etc gives us a healthy balance and perspective. It allows is to vent if need be, to laugh, to release. Often times in our minds we can feel isolated like no one understands what we may be going through. When we are part of a community, be it, your church family, a garden club, a travel group with women who may share the same interests.... we feel like we are a part of something, like we belong. Again, at this age we certainly have a different perspective on life than we did 20 or even 10 years ago, so we can all relate and at least attest to that. Certain things just don't matter any more. Be a part of a community, one that encourages, support provides, one that allows us to have a safe space as we continue to move through our life's journey!
